So I'm toying with the idea of doing a rear seat delete in my notch. Normally I hate rear seat deletes in streetcars because I don't see why you need to remove it in a boulevard cruiser... however, I'm installing a harness bar in my car because I'm a ricer and I want the illusion of safety, rather than real safety. :tongue3: With that in place, there won't be much point to a back seat.

I want the nicest, most upscale rear seat delete I can get. I will have a pretty fancy interior, so I need this to be in line with that.

So, who makes really nice delete kits? Pics? Links?

Give me some ideas.

Paul.

Home depot, MDF Boards $5-15 Bucks a sheet depending on how thick and you only need two sheets one top and one bottom and in the carpet section they have a tight black carpet on a roll and its fairly cheep, if you have the know how $35-45 bucks and some time to pull some measurements to cut the MDF board you can make a higher quality piece then MMR or AMERICAN MUSCLE because they use some thin garbage MDF with speaker box carpet on it.

Deff not worth the money IMO considering you can make it for much much less...

You could probably even wrap it in some leather or vinyl to make it look more upscale.

the ones everyone sells are all the same, just black carpet. If you want to make something cool for a high end interior you will have to do it yourself like I did. Took a little more time but it came out well imo and I could't help but light it up.

the vinyl edition is only 200!? When I see stuff like that it makes me wonder how much the one I made is really worth?

Thats the one I have.
Not made of MDF but plastic and I requested that mine come without the carpet glued on so that I can cover it in a black perforated vinyl to match my FR500 steering wheel.

That's a really nice one. That might be a winner. I know that making one is probably nicer, and cheaper, but it's easier for me to buy stuff at this point than it is to find time to work on the car. $270 isn't bad at all.

DropTop - you got pics of yours? I might be able to send them some microsuede and have them cover it in that instead of carpet.

I made mine in the vert...covered it in vinyl instead of carpet. I'm still undecided if I'm going to make one for the coupe. But $270? Thats just ridiculous...you can make one out of suede for 1/3 the price...and it will fit perfect.

I've never priced out plastic so I won't say it's a ridiculous price, if you can afford it and don't have the time/space/or tools to build one then it can be justified. Hell for the reasons I listed I could justify paying that price, don't think I am though.

Paul I haven't put mine in yet. The upholstery shop had to special order what I wanted and it took 2 months to get it so it never went in over the winter.

I've kind of been delaying installing it because I want to get some new window tint and don't want them leaning on the delete.

Mine was also much cheaper than the fox kit, I think I paid $179 last fall on sale.

I was hoping that I was not the only one that would think 270 was alot for plastic and carpet. I went crazy on mine and spend a week on it so that it would be what I wanted and still don't think I could get $270 for it even with the custom touches and the lighting....

I understand that $270 might be a lot of money. Like I said, for me right now it's a little easier to come up with some extra duckets for something I can just drop right in, rather than finding time to make stuff. I have plenty of tools and workspace, but time is a precious commodity.
