Message: <blockquote data-quote="ScottyDsntKnow" data-source="post: 1074227" data-attributes="member: 10454">Any chambered muffler is going to sound hollow and raspy.  If you want something to sound throaty, deep and like it has a pair, get straight through mufflers.  Loud is not everything.  Anything can be loud, hell some redneck with a ratted out rotted 1979 Chevy 350 with a single cherry bomb band clamped to a rusty stock exhaust will be LOUD... and it will sound like shit.  I've been there and done that with the loud chambered mufflers with dumps.  I NEVER got as many compliments on my exhaust as I did with my 95 Cobra.  Exhaust was FRPP ceramic shorties, generic O/R H pipe and Dynomax Ultraflows with stainless tails.  Sounded a bazillion times better, did not leave a ringing in my ears after a 2 hour trip back home on the weekend, did not fill the cockpit with fumes and didn't attract police.  If you are dead set on dumps at least do it right and point the dumps at each other, not straight down.  The exhaust pulses will work together to push the fumes out the back and not right up into the cabin.  And I would look at a set of Ultraflows or Magnaflows.  The 98 I bought came with Dynomax chambered mufflers and one of the first things I am going to do this spring is swap them out with some Ultraflows.</blockquote>
