I'm doing my exhaust after Xmas. Instead of buying a catted h, I'm going to get a BBK O/R H. Then when I get the $$ I'm getting Pypes Cats. Question is, can I have a shop weld in those cats with the O/R H? This will be fine right? Last two questions, with the 2.5'' BBK H, 2.5'' hi flo cats, and new 2.5'' piping up to dumped spintech pro street mufflers, what should I expect like 10 hp? I'll be adding bbk shorties next year so the full exhaust will be done. Last question, will it be louder than a 91 fox with dumped flow 40s and no cats?

The pypes cats are universal style so as long as you buy the correct size (beileve the BBK is a 2.5" pipe) they will be fine

I have the Pypes catted X on my car and right out of the box it is simply an off road X-pipe with 2 cats and instructions telling you what to cut to make them fit

Yeah I made sure to save the 2.5'' ones so they'll match up to the BBK O/R H. I would just buy the whole catted midpipe but don't have the 400+ bones for the X or H. So I'm getting the O/R H for Xmas, then I'll buy the cats myself.

I did the same think with my MAC Long tube H pipe. But in my case my cars are right up on my trans crossmember now. But with shorties you should have no problem!

Because I need to run cats and it'll be louder than what I got now. And this is the only way I can change my midpipe, I don't have 400+ to spend on a catted midpipe, Im getting the o/r H for xmas hopefully so all I gotta do is buy the high flow cats and mufflers

Don't forget that you can sell your OEM cats to a local yard, paid for a good portion of my catted X pipe

Ugh, dumped mufflers, yeah that is going to be VERY loud at least to the local cops. Piece of advice, run the tailpipes. I ran around NJ/DE for YEARS with an O/R pipe only swapping back to the stock mid-pipe every 2 years for emissions day and then right back to the O/R pipe. Tailpipes and a set of straight through mufflers like Dynomax/Magnaflow will keep the sound low enough as to not attract attention. I'm serious, when at idle with a stock cam you almost can't tell there is an exhaust on there. Tone is great off idle but not loud and no drone at cruise. When you DO get on it however it is LOUD but you can pick and choose those times and I would hope you aren't flooring it in town or in a place you know cops will be regardless of what exhaust you have.

And what are you doing with shorties anyway? Longtubes are so easy to install on 5.0s it isn't even funny. Save your money for a set of longtubes and then just get that O/R pipe chopped to work with them.

Honestly OP I would find a BBK on road Xpipe. Will give a little bit more power over H and deeper sound. I had a off road H pipe and installed cats and the problem is the cats hang low because of the way the off road pipe is bent. So my cats scrape over speed bumps. If you want a nice set up BBK shorty headers to an on road x pipe from bbk with some nice borla/magnaflows will sound awesome!

Yeah I want dumps so I can have a loud exhaust lol. Goin with a bbk o/r H, hi flo cats, new 2.5" piping and dumped spintech pro streets. Is that gonna be nice and loud? I'm worries about cops too lol, I get grilled just with the light tint on the car and stock exhaust lmao. Idk if I'm definately doing dumps, if it will be loud with the o/r H, hi flo cats and spintech pro steets w tailpipes I wont dump em. As for flooring it in town, i only do that with no cars around on a long empty road right by a highway, i don't do it with people around and I know where the cops sit most of the time.I gotta get shorties because my cars an auto, can't run longtubes :(

I like the way an X sounds but at the same time I favor the H a little bit more. And I heard X's give more top end power and H's give more low end grunt and I'd rather have the extra low end grunt. I'm not too worries about scraping the cats because they're substantially smaller than the stock ones and my car isn't lowered and chances are I won't lower it idk. Definately doing headers in the future. Forgot to add, I don't think I'd put an o/r X, hi flo cata and dumped spintech pro streets, that would definately get me pulled over lol.

On a scale of 1-10 with 10 being the loudest, what would you say my new exhaust setup will be? BBK O/R H, 2.5" high flow cats, new dual 2.5" piping up to dumped spintech pro streets
