Long story short, I thought my window motor bushings were bad and i was going to to the "1/4 nut fix" Well apon inspection its not the bushing, but the actual gear. Does anyone know where i can locate the part in the LAST pic?? Any help is appreciated.

oh. one of those.

ouch.

my suggestions would be to ask our sponsors:
Late Model Restoration,
CJ Pony Parts,
Anchor Room.

Then I'd suggest www.rockauto.com

then I'd suggest Junk-yard diving! :)

Do you guys think its possible to swap the current gear for this gear...

http://www.latemodelrestoration.com/item/LRS-WLG43/79-93-Mustang-Window-Motor-Gear

so, it appears your problem isnt the gear, its the "cup" at the bottom.... SHoot Jarrod a PM (or start a thread with your pics and the link to his product) and ask him if that gear on his site comes with that cup.

If it only comes with what's pictured, I'd say keep looking.

But you wont know for sure until you ask.

I had a motor that completely went out, after I had done the 1/4" nut fix a few months prior. O'Riley's in Dallas has refurb motors for $65. All things considered, by the time you figure in price for that one individual part, shipping, labor to get it in there, and all that mess, you could just throw a refurb motor in there.

After taking my motors out twice for the 1/4" nut repair, I can tell you next time, I'm just gonna buy a refurb motor. :)

Went to the local junk yard and got 3 motor gears from a 2001 GT...so YUP! they ARE interchangeable. And got them all for under $20.
