December 2020. The classic "will stud mount roller rockers fit under OEM valve covers dilemma". In my case, I used Fox cast aluminum valve covers. I ground down the baffle standoff, shaped the baffle to match, and reinstalled the baffle hardware using red thread locker. I used my borescope to check clearance with the rocker arms installed. As you can see, success!

Borescope POV with valve cover, we have clearance, Clarence!

December 2020. I shaved down the IAC to clear the valve covers. The Fox oil filler neck was too close to the SN throttle body, so I cut the fill neck and added a piece of radiator hose to tilt it out of the way.

December 2020. Install time. I've found that the passenger side header is incredibly difficult to install with the engine in the car, but the driver side is very easy. When I pulled the motor with both headers attached, the driver side one was banging on everything, I decided to install it afterwards. So in goes the engine with 1 header attached.

December 2020. I used a ratchet strap around the radiator support to prevent the engine from tilting too far back before the transmission and crossmember were installed.

Some reassembly taking place. I bought an SBF oil priming drill attachment, which can be seen in the distributor hole. I primed the oil system for a few minutes before continuing.

December 2020. One more fitment issue with the upper intake manifold. The fitting on the back corner of the manifold that was hooked to my catch can wouldn't clear the valve covers, so it got a plug. I ended up finding this leftover OEM molded hose from my Town Car what worked perfectly as a replacement.

And just like that, it's back together!

Are going stroker
Sometimes I try to steer people away from it
I put one together for a kid he wanted it
Problem you can only run a aviation fuel mix
Idle is crazy lumpy
Some over heat problems
Was only meant for track
Not a daily driver
Just a 5 .0
I dont want any stroker for myself I have built
But I always don't agree with them
I like engines that are manageable sufficient
Controllable and perform well
More fun to drive without wonder whens it going pop

So, I'm on the fence. I would love 50-100hp more out of this car. I'm between a 306ci with a turbo, or a 331ci with no boost.

I drive the car 150-200mi at a time, on open roads. It doesn't see traffic or light to light rips. It's for high speed and mountain roads. I want to stay SBF powered. I had wanted to do a 351W in the past, but I like the packaging of the 302W based engine. There's just more room.

This isn't a tomorrow type of decision, I've been thinking about it for a while. I also don't want fuel consumption to increase dramatically. I average 16-18mpg per drive, which isn't bad. There's a lot to consider...
