Wow I haven't been on here in hella long..

Well anyways, I bought an 03 GT engine this past weekend. Has 70k on it. Just needs serpentine belt and PS reservoir. Not a big deal. It's going into my 96 GT. Will I need to get it tuned? I've looked around online and heard yes and no. Also, the guy threw in Pypes exhaust. I shouldn't have a problem running them despite them being 99-04 right? As far as I know the exhaust hangers are located in different spots from SN to New Edge.

If you can point me in the right direction, that'd be great! Any other suggestions I'm open to as well. Thanks!

You will need to tap one temp sensors on the intake manifold super easy. It's a fairly straight forward swap. The rear hangers are different

I have an 02 engine in my 96 GT currently. It came that way when i bought it and it was not tuned. It seemed to run perfectly fine when it was untuned however I tune every mustang I own regardless so its tuned now LOL

I should also note I have all the 96 Harnesses, The trans is also a T45 out of the 96 and I have to run coil packs and wires still rather then the COPs because of the 96 harness but again it all worked together fine.

Yeah I work at autozone myself, we def sell a lot of ford COPs versus coil packs and wires. I know the COP number by heart haha

if you dont mind me asking, how much did you pick it up for??? theres a towncar engine forsale on craigslist by me with 60,000ish miles and its the pi engine also i think it was an 02 towncar???? anyways its complete minus alternator and even has wireharness, hes asking 750...good deal?? if so i think im just gonna ditch half my performance parts and buy that whole motor...such an easy install..plug and go,althhough with this motor id have to flip around the Tbody as its facing the drivers side not pass side..
And is that 03 a c.o.p engine?? if so im pretty shur you need either the ecu or some extra wiring and stuff and mostlikly a tune if not the ecu and wire harness...thats why i like taht lincoln engine, its coilpacks...

Sorry for falling asleep on this thread. After a long wait and a couple of small problems shes done!

if you dont mind me asking, how much did you pick it up for???

I got it for $600, 65k miles with cat'ed magnaflows thrown in free. Only notable repairs was the PS reservoir was replaced, serpentine replaced and a new set of pulleys.

Only thing left to really be desired now is a catted X pipe (prob go SLP), decent stereo and drop it. Thinking about Autocrossing it and having it be a DD until I can get a truck/4x4 for winter.
