as title says.
just wanted a new thread since my last one was getting confusing. I remember now that the guy i bought the heads from had the stock hood and a spacer on his stock intake and it cleared everything. that should be all i need.

Re: tallest spacer for gt40 intake and stock hood?

3/8ths would be my guess.

The GT40 is taller( I know the Cobra one) is taller then the stock one. The stock rockers are 1.6 believe so I think they should.

My 1.6 roller rockers fit underneath stock fox valve covers after removing the baffle and grinding in two spots.

I don't know. But 94-95 stock valve covers are ugly! :hammer:

Seriously though, I'm not sure since I've never tried. If they don't fit, just get a different set of valve covers.

Its not just the rockers you need to clear, but also the alternator, not sure about those.

how do you get a fox body one to fit then? I keep on hearing people using fox body ones, but don't know how they fit with the alternator. I'd rather use the stock one for a more stock apperance.

Well, because I'm using foxbody covers on a foxbody. :crazy2:

I've not tried bolting them on to a SN95 yet. Maybe I should do that when I get home just to answer this question once and for all.

Foxbody covers do have a nice stock-looking appearance, because they're stock. :) The ones I sell are just a little nicer because they've been cleaned, smoothed, and powdercoated. :boink:

Here's the clearance involved:

Does'nt look much, but the alternator overhangs that cylinder head, means anything that goes "staright up" would need modifying.

Yep. On my tall Ford valve covers I had to have the passenger side cut, and a flat plat welded in to clear the alternator. I think foxbody covers would fit though. I really should check tonight.

Okay, well I have to powdercoat two sets of valve covers tonight. If I'm feeling ambitious, maybe I'll try to bolt one down to the Unicorn and let you know.
