Has anyone swapped the exhaust rocker arms out so the motor will have 1.6 arms on the intake side and 1.7 on the exhaust side?If so how particle Is it to do so?

It is possible to do with the heads on. should be just a matter of off and on. and make sure they are in the right place on the vlv's.
Your cobra should already have 1.7's

you are so correct about that.came home from work and looked it up in the big red service manual.so let ask this...would it do any good to install 1.6 rocker arms on the intake side?i was told that if I run 1.6 on the intake side and 1.7 on the exhaust side that it would affect the stock cam to perform as if I had installed a "racier" cam, thats how it was told to me.

only if started of with 1.6 roller rockers in gt's but the rockers you have add .030 lift on both the exh./int. to the stock .444 lift cam which allows more airflow out the heads.
if you put 1.6 on the intake and 1.7 on the exhaust there would be .030 lift more on the exhaust side allowing more exhaust to exhale.
