putting a whole DOHC motor is ALOT more cost effctive than trying to put DOHC heads onto your shortblock, you will be nickeled and dimed to death. the swap doesnt require a new wiring harness or computer, you can just get the computer tuned for the motor which will give you some added power. there is a thread i believe in the "members' rides" section about how someone swapped a Mach 1 DOHC motor into his GT.

so im really considering on what i should do to my ride and havent hit a dead end or anything cause i would like to work on suspension like control arms and k member slotted rotors etc, then of course the horse power. currently i have ok so i was over at my dads yesterday and we were talking about what might be a good way to make some more hp. i currently have \/ \/ \/ \/ \/ \/ \/ \/ \/ \/ \/. is it neccesary to rebuild? i would just like to smoke LS1's with out really having to count on nos. but of course its nice to use to really finish them off!!!!! any info would be great! thanks.

mac h pipe, 40 flows, bbk cai, bbk tb, bbk plenum, underdrive pulleys 50-150 NX nitrous, msd coil packs, msd wires, 410 hears.

just am not sattisfied. so i am considering on going into the motor but i dont have any idea of a good package to work with. working with a budget 113k miles

yea your going to be hard pressed to get a cobra to run with the bolt on ls1's Makes you wanna throw a ls1 in your car doesn't it... Anyway, the 32v with the nos should kick their ass good but it isn't that hard of a swap.

You are going to need alot. A bolt-on lsx car is deadly. most are around 400rwhp.

yeah i know a few bolt ls1, ls2s that will rape..

anyways. my friend has 32 valves of mach1 raw power and he smokes most ls1s.. i'm even considering 4v goodness.

you'll need a crapload of stuff to do the swap...
its just about as cost efficent to supercharge your car or
just build a new dang engine...

there isn't near as much as you think to do the swap. A bunch of small stuff but if you find a wrecked one then you can just pull it all and if you do the mark 8 swap then you can get the same stuff of the mark8

In front of you
i have found many engines on ebay already pulled for reasonable prices a few b head cobras and some 99-01 motors, good luck i would definetely go the route of the engine swap if you add forcd induction later youll be more pleased with the results than if you had a sohc O0

You need a engine (complete), a flywheel or flexplate, some tools and some wire. I got my Aviator engine waaay cheaper than I got my Paxton for.
