1994 5.0 bad clutch help

Hey everyone i this got this car and i was wondering what a bad clutch and flywheel look like the kid i got it from said it was the problem but ive never messed with tranny's only engines, i got the tranny off and the clutch and flywheel out i this need to know if i need to replace it..

yeah, I planned on it i was this wondering what it would look like if its bad..

Throw in a OEM Replacement. Sachs is one of the company's that makes them. Or just go with a LMR SVE Mongoose clutch it's just like a King Cobra Clutch. It'll hold a decent amount of power and still be totally streetable. Then take your flywheel and have it resurfaced.

There's wear indicator lines on the friction disc..kind of like tires, once you reach the indicators it's time to change. That's if the clutch wasn't burnt and now glazed with still good depth left, which would most prob need to be changed in that case as well. Flywheels have minimum thickness, max run-out spec's, and visual signs that also indicate if it's good or bad just like brake discs. Now that's all great if you have the parts in your hands, not symptoms that a clutch would cause..aka.. grinding gears , high pedal, slipping

Why was this "kid" telling you it needs to be replaced??

he said it was slipping and it wouldnt start due to the flywheel missing teeth, i found out he through a rod once i got it replaced and started it up. So now i'm replacing the engine, i found a carburated 5.0 i might get so ill see how it goes
