I’m also struggling with getting my 1994 Mustang GT started. It has a Jasper motor 50 I’ve replaced the coil ignition module distributor cap and rotor still no spark trying to figure out if there’s anything else I need to check. I know there’s a PIP in a distributor and I’m thinking I am just going to replace the distributor anything else to check? Thanks.

TFI (Thick Film Ignition) module on a 94-95 Mustang GT is remotely mounted on the passenger-side inner fender apron, usually tucked under the stock airbox attached to a metal heat sink. It controls ignition spark and dwell. Common failure symptoms include stalling, intermittent spark, or hot-start failures.

There is a small gray thingy plugged into the harness typically hanging around the distributor tfi plug. Engine off, pull of the gray thingy then start engine. Itll run a tad different, but dont fret. Grab a timing light, clamp the battery terminals, and clamp on to the front passenger plugwire and then shine the light at the harmonic balancer toward the left, looking for timing marks. Youll be wanting to line up the marks at 10degree. Rotate the distributor necessary to achieve the 10degree. Sometimes youll need to hand sand off the rust around the balancer and maybe paint the marks to be more visible.

Just curious what does that spout connector do ?
Basically just let the engine run on static timing. The ECU controlled timing based off that initial setting. Many set static to 12-14°, which may or may not give a little more advance timing. When I used the EECiV, it didn't hinder anything.

that spout helps computer advance and dissadvance timing

here is how i set mine up
make sure engine is at operating temps
turn off the engine
pull the spout and start the car
let the car run for a bit to find timing it will be skipping around
turn the distributor clockwise to advance counter to dissadvance
set it to about 12-14 lock the distributor down plug in the spout
you can recheck the timing now it should be close to 10-11

the computer will advance on its own

back in the day distributors had a vacuum advance, you would set the initial timing WO vacuum
after set plug back in , vacuum would advance on acceleration
