1997 SVT Cobra

Hello all, this is my first post here. I have a 1997 cobra that is a build in progress. As of now it has mm cc plates, eibach springs and mm lower control arms all of which came with the car. My plan for this next year is to get coilovers all around and upgrade the brakes and put my forged internal 4.6 into it.

I'm thinking about going with the cobra R brembos after talking to a couple sn95 guys because it fits my budget for this build. But I'll see.

Cobra R brembos you can sometimes find for a decent price ~700 to 1000. I was just saying if the car isn't going to be used for some pretty serious corner carving the stock cobra brakes with braided lines and good pads and rotors will perform pretty well. But if you can swing R's go for it lol.

I'll probably stick with those brakes if I can't do the cobra r's. And the shortblock has a forged crank, forged Manley rods and 9.5:1 forged Pistons. I had the engine before I had the car. Originally I was going to 4v swap it into my last mustang 98 gt and boost it but I ended up selling that car. If I can I plan to change the Pistons to 11:1 compression but f not its fine. Unfortunately it is an iron block. I plan to make around 350-360 at the wheels NA.

Welcome and nice project. Prices on the R brakes have gone down. You can find a set of calipers for $400. And the rotors are cheap.

Thanks, and I plan to do autocross, track days and canyon runs but also plan to drive it a couple days a week on the street
