burnouts are fun no doubt, everyone has to do atleast one. i dont have to hold the brake or even dump the clutch. i can blow my tires off at 30+ mph in first just by punching the throttle and keep it going thru 2nd gear which is more fun imo.

my buddy did one a few weeks back in front of me... i am still finding balled rubber in crevices when i wash the car... LOL... i do them every now and then... when it's time to buy new tires, i'm going to roast these tires till they blow... :coolsmiley:

I still haven't done a burnout with my 4.10's and 315's.

i dont think a 4.6 can turn over a 315..you will probley fry your clutch :crazy2:

and i agree about the dump the clutch and keeping the car moving.....it way more fun then sitting in one spot holding the brakes...i did my first one in the cobra a couple weeks ago and wow......thats all i can say it was just rolling the smoke out it even got a some chirp in third lol

do a real burnout NO BRAKES!!! :hammer:

I can burn them in 1, 2, or 3rd in my cobra... all I do is floor it. 4:10 gears FTW.

BTW I have Nitto tires.

my inner rear fenders are caked with rubber, and i got some sprinkles on my tips as well

poor man's undercoating lol...

I'd light 'em up on mine but my clutch is on the way out and I won't be able to get to it for a while- so I'm driving gently for now. I've got shitty Eagle ZR45's so once I'm off the clutch I just floor it and I get somesmoke

its not hard to spin the tires just rolling...... idk why you guys are making a big deal out of me holding the brakes.. i can't break the tires loose in 3rd gear rolling but i can spin it through first if i want and get them loose in 2nd barely with stock gears and 285's and ~270hp.

no one is making abig deal out of it. breaking the tires lose at a 35 mph roll is impressive... so is a nice smokey burnout.

First !?! I did like THIRTY the first week I bought my car. The back quarters are the only part of the car, I NEVER wash. I'm COLLECTING rubber.

Burnouts are more addictive than damn near anything to me. I was like Ryclef, I done so many the first week I bought the car it was awesome, lol. I've got three designated burnout spots around town that are absolutely blistered with blackmarks.

FWIW, I done my first burnout in 4 months last night. Walking it sideways down the street in second gear

Hurray for the car being back on the road!

I love all burnouts. Sometimes ill dump the clutch in 2nd gear, hold the brakes for a few seconds and then just peel em for like 40ft, other times ill just smash the throttle from a roll and listen to the tires break loose. Its all good.

aight.. it just seemed like everyone was hatin, i was like wth.

anyways, Rycleff, i dont do them much because A) i dont want to tear up my car or put unwanted wear and tear on it and B) the bigger reason, if i get any kind of ticket in my car, my dad will sell it. he doesn't mind me fixing it up and cruising around and hot rodding in it, but a ticket will not fly with him.

but it was definitely fun no doubt and a good adrenaline rush. after i got the car to stop initially (my foot caught the side of the brake so my car jumped a bit), i held the burnout at about 6500 for a good 6 or 7 seconds then dropped the RPMs a bit to about 4500-5500 feathering it.. after about 10 more seconds of that, i just let the brakes out and went another 30 or 40 feet with it and stopped.

and also, ive heard it was bad to be doing a burnout and then just let it stop sitting still. i heard you should walk it out until the car grabs traction on its own as you slow down..? is that true?

Eh...a burnout is a burnout man. Just don't bang it off the rev limiter and do anything crazy like 2 minutes straight. I do mine from a dead stop in 2nd gear...
