Your old man doesn't give a shit. Trust me, he has been there and so have I. When I was your age I had a car that would run consistant 12.80s. He acted worried about it but in reality he was thinking back to his big block Fairlane500 or his 351 powered '67 GT. Shit doesn't change. He understands.

I'm just saying, he shouldn't limit himself because of his old man. No matter what he does his car will be more reliable than whatever POS street/drag car his dad was drivng when he was 20. If anything his dad will think more of him for making his own path. We only get one shot at it. Make it count. My old man used to hate on me because I love cars and he is more into airplanes. Well, I got my SEL pilot's license and it's not what I am into right now, I love flying but I love fast cars more. Right now I am into cars, but I still help him work on his flying machines. It's all the same, a hotrodder is a hotrodder (land or air). Bottom line, live your motherfuckin life and don't have any regrets. Some day you will have kids and all of this will be a memory. Your car will be $3k away from being fast and your wife will be 30lbs away from being hot. That is all that there is to it. Have fun while you can.

i have plenty fun with my car. just looking at it provides me entertainment haha.

but i get what you mean. and its not that my dad wouldn't understand, he used to have nice cars back in his day and grew up around hot rods/muscle cars and he was HUGE into NASCAR just like we are today.

but its that he doesn't want me getting a ticket because my insurance. thats why i keep everything on the safe side. i do have fun in my car no doubt though. driving fast and crazy isn't something that excites me, well it does but what i love is making my car look good and me and my dad wrenching on it. thats what i enjoy most about my car. :thumb: my dad and I dont get much time to do things together anymore cause im at college and he works/plays golf 24/7.. so when we are working on my car, I have tons of fun hangin out with him.
