Recently started a new project and figured I would post my progress up here. This the Fx-r projector which I beleive is a remake of an infiniti projector. The kit I am using is the fx-r stage 3 kit from theretrofitsource.com. I had previously used shitty aftermarket hids in halogen housings and it was horrible, my smoked headlights make it worse so I started this to get some crazy light output...

heres a picture of the projector... I made L brackets for the bottom mount and threaded the brackets, the bolt has a lock nut, so when i spin the bolt I can adjust the cutoff beam rotation. This is know as the "jnc mounting method" I will adjust the vertical aim with a similar setup on the top of the projector to the back of the housing.

heres a pic with the shroud on the projector it covers the projector housing

I then cut apart the stock reflector and installed the halfs on the stock bolts. Most guys mount the projector into the reflector but I tried that and it was not as sturdy as mounting directly into the housing. So I mounted it directly and will be molding the shroud and the stock relector together for a nice clean look... then painting black...

heres with the shroud and the reflector in, just need to mold the 3 pieces together

lights were sealed with rubber butyl tape (which is what oem sealant is) and then i went back over the seams with clear silicone for added measure to ensure no condensation. silicone is white in pictures but dries clear.

also here is the back showing how I sealed the headlight up since the reflector bowl where the stock bulb was located is now gone. I placed the stock rubber boot over the projector bowl and used "goop" automotive sealant to adhere it to the bowl and seal it up, then used a 4" hose clamp to make sure the boot was tight on the headlight.

Nice work. How do the headlights look in the daytime? I like the functionality of projectors, but I'm not a fan of the look of them. I wasn't sure how much the smoked lenses "covered up" the look of the projectors..

I have a question- Have you, or would you consider putting together a set of Projector Headlights for the SN95 '94-'98? And I apologize if it's been asked already before. Would you consider something like receiving a type of "retainer", fundage to work with? The set that is on e-bay right now and has been on there is nice but priced at $600.00 which inconceivable and outlandish and ridiculous to me anyway.

what do you mean a retainer? the hid kit in these lights costs 315 alone so after the labor 600 isnt too rediculous for that set lol I put alot of effort into these lights and they could still use some improvements. with a cheaper kit it would cost less

yea the love to jack you for the parts. I looked into it and you need a vacuum table to make a good reflector for them or you just end up cutting them up and trying to make them fit. I went with one of the depot-black sets myself after growing tired of dull lights at night with smoked lenses and have been happy. You can only tell they are projectors from certain angles and otherwise they just look black.

they look awesome! do you have your stock headlights?

I do not. Why?

ANYBODY INTERESTED IN A SET? due to the high demand and interest across a few forums in only a day I am seriously thinking of marketing these lights (no matter the year)
