315/35 Nittos are good as well. Not the best DR track tire but a great street tire if you want grip.

I've heard MT's are good, and I've heard sumitomos are bad at holding traction....Also MT's are more expensive than Sumitomos, so if you can get them cheap I would go for the MT's...
the 275 40 mt's will fit on a rim that is 9.0"-9.5" wide wheel
the 315 30 sumitomos will fit on a 10"-10.5" wide wheel
So what size are your wheels?

I'm a fan of MT, I used their ET Street Radials and am highly impressed.

For drag racing, you want as much side wall as possible.

I would definately see what size they are first but it sounds like the MT is the way to go

I run summitomos right now and i have 0 issues with traction on the street, however ive never taken them down the strip so idk how they are there. I know the wear is great on the street tire but not there DR, i think its like 500 ,iles and they need replacing if your using there DR for street tires

The MT's are awesome but they wont last as long on the street. If your looking for traction you wont find much better then the MT for a tire that can be run on the street but dont expect a lot of miles out of them they are more suited for track use.

Like i said i have had no issues whatsoever with them, and i lived in Washington state lol the wettest state in the US, i DD my car with 315's for a good 5 months until i bought the danger ranger and loved them. As long as you werent romping off the light in the rain you were good to go, these tires are pretty sticky considering that they are regular street radials. I got mine from americanmuscle.com cause they ship free, but i also messed up a rim bad and they were the only ones who were willing at the time to do a tire/wheel combo for a decent price, otherwise i wouldnt have went with them. i got 2 bullit deep dish 17x10.5 with 315's on them shipped for 600 i think.

* and also i was running 275/40's before i went to 315's and i noticed a slight difference in traction for the better. Now i just have those on the front

I also live in washington state and i have the sumitomo htr z's. They are good in the rain and even alright in the snow. I wouldn't advise trying to drive in the snow though, in fact I got stuck last night in it lol. Dry performance is also pretty good. They grip good for a street radial. However the DR's will grip much better. I am running the 315/35/17's on 17x10.5 rims.
