From what I've read, the only difference between a L and a R casting is an installed gallery plug in the rear of the L (driver's side) head. You just transfer the plug from your old head to the new one upon installation.

I guess this is assuming you put your stock cams in this for the gain. I wonder how nice a bump it would be if you put in some solid street NPI cams in with it?

I hope you guys aren't expecting these head to be the SVO heads. They are plain old PI heads.

Ha no these are SVO heads now known as FRPP heads.

M-6049-D46 Complete 1996-98 Only
Add approximately 35 horsepower over production 4.6L SOHC heads.

Look at the code on PI heads
Here is the PI heads
http://www.fordracingparts.com/parts/part_details.asp?PartKeyField=6123

M-6049-P46** Right Hand
M-6050-P46** Left Hand

Current Production 4.6L SOHC 2V Romeo engine aluminum cylinder heads

Fully machined and assembled with production Mustang GT valvetrain and camshaft

Great for custom engine builds

Less expensive than replacing valvetrain and remachining a used cylinder head

Less expensive alternative to aftermarket performance heads

Can be used on 1996-98 engines with additional modifications and parts

I just got off the phone with FRPP you're wrong. :violent1: They don't make the SVO head anymore. Those are PI heads that you can buy used for next to nothing.

Call ford racing for yourself.

Haha, I think I just proved Your point, lol.  When FR opens back up on Monday i'll call again and ask them what the hell they are talking about. They told me "They DO NOT SELL THE SVO HEAD and the D46 was the same head as the P46.

Thats a cool airflow chart sxynerd. Man seeing how the new twisted wedge 2v heads will flow 240 is amazing even compared to ported FRPP heads. I can't wait to see the price on them. I hope to God its competitive too.
