Guys,

I put in the order for my 331 short block from CHP it went into production Wednesday! I went ahead and go the 28oz flywheel & damper from them also sweet deal! I have a question regarding my cam I called Anderson Ford talk to Rick there he said to go with the B-31hr since I am planning to supercharge my car. Is anyone here running this cam or have feedback? Also I am going to be running AFR185 heads (new) I don't believe I need high rev valve springs, right? This car is going to be a street car might not see the track maybe only just to see what it is capable of running! Any other places to get a cam? Any ideas on a supercharger for my setup? Let me know what you guys think... :boink:

Thanks for reading, :TY:

Congrats. Sounds like you got a good combo sorted out. The heads will be great for your combo. Assuming you're putting this all in a stock block, I'd say an S-Trim or a P1-SC from Procharger will be perfect for your set up. Plenty efficient for the numbers you'll be looking for. As for that cam, can't comment really. I have a custom grind in the my 331. I have had my valve springs on my AFR's upgraded at a local machine shop. A call to comp cams or any reputable custom cam grinder will get you exactly what you're looking for in the cam department. Why exactly did you get the 28oz imbalance? Are you sure they are building the motor for that?

If you're looking for a cam and you have AFRs get in touch with Ed Curtis for all your cam needs.

thanks for the help guys and chp is building the engine at the 28oz balance. I was thinking about the procharger I have been doing research on them. The only thing is that you have to relocate the batt, right?

Yeah the procharger requires that you move the battery to the trunk. Basically anything you run with an intercooler in a SN95 is gonna require that. Dropping the tank to get the bolts through for the trunk tray isn't a biggie and if you're going to be running a blower you need to do it to change to a bigger fuel pump anyway.

Just be aware that Procharger had quality issues even a few years ago. Not sure how they are now but I'd do research on that as well. I've NEVER heard of people having issues with Vortech or Kenne Bells that were bought new. Plus you can intercool a Vortech pretty easily, you just have to move the battery to the trunk and build your own coldside since there is no kit for them.
