i have a 351 engine that came out of a 1980 or so f150. i had debated on getting rid of it so i could do a few things to my 94 gt and then get another one later. someone told me the heads that came on them would flow really well compared to my stock e7s. i am looking for a 12 second car right now. i will try to get the numbers off the heads when i get to my dads. what type of heads would come on these engines and how good would they be?
i will be putting on a edelbrock performer 5.0 intake manifold, e cam, 1.7 rockers, eibach drag springs, mac long tubes, mac h pipe, pypes cat back with full boar mufflers, 3.73 gears, short throw shifter, msd coil, msd dizzy, cai, and 315/35r17 nitto 555 tires out back.

any stock truck heads are going to make $hit for power. If you want 12's you need a set of aftermarket aluminum heads unless you want to port the hell out of the other ones. Your never going to hit 12's with that set up of a performer 5.0 intake, E cam and truck heads. Your going to have a 351W making 302 power, plus your added weight from the 351 and Nitto's and 12's will just be a pipe dream. Do you know what it involves doing a 351 swap and the parts needed?

i am not putting the 351 in yet. i was just going to port the heads off it and put them on a 302 for a little.
yea i know what is involved in the swap. thats why i havent done it.
i have seen 12s with gt40 heads. that was my original plan. i just heard the 351 heads would work real good. trying to build a budget street car this year since i am working on building 4 four wheelers, 94 gt, 95 gt, and 3 bikes.
next year i want to build a stroker out of the 351 with a trick flow top end and a vortech charger.

just put the gt-40s on. i believe truck heads mostly had a bigger chamber, so lower compression ratio.

why are you wasting your time dropping in a 351 if your just going to put 302 parts on it...hence the Trickflow top end kit. Especially a stroked 351 and a trickflow top end kit????
