Last week I called UPR and bought what I thought was a Sportline kit which should be a 2 inch drop. What showed up today is a set for 4 & 6 cyl models that says 1.5" on it. I called to see what happened and they said that this setup is the equivalent of a Sportline kit. I specifically asked them when I placed the order if it was the Sportline kit and they said yes. Nobody mentioned it was the "equivalent" to one. Now I'm a little pissed.

Any of you guys ever heard of this being the "equivalent to a Sportline kit"? Or should I send them back and buy from someone who can sell me exactly what I ask for?

I want the darn car to sit lower than the Pro Kit and if it's not going to I don't even want to bother with the install. Plus I'm sure they ain't gonna take these back once they've been installed if I don't like the ride height. My car is a 95 GT.

i would think that what they are saying partially makes sense. just like how foxbody owners that convert a 4 cyl.
to a 5.0 car leave the stock 4 cyl. springs in and it sits lower, because the 4 cyl springs are ment to handle less weight,
so the same could make sense for your current situation. although i do agree with the others about returning them, but i think
if you had to, installing them would more than likely come close to the results you are looking for. just my 2 cents

people use 4cly springs on fox's becuase theyre not made for as much weight as the 5.0 so they condense more lowering the car, which isnt right because the spring rate will be off. id send them back, or get a part number and google it. OR just PM the upr guy on here I dont think he'll lie to u.

I pm'd him at the Modular Fords site where I saw the add for the springs. No answer yet, but I called UPR this morning and I'm sending them back. I specifically wanted Sportlines, so I'm not wasting time on an install just to see if it works out. I got the Sporlines coming from somehwere else since UPR doesn't have them.

People use 4 cyl fox springs in the front not to lower the car but as a poor man's drag spring setup. The help to transfer weight to the back tires.

Because of the weight difference between the V8 and V6 cars using the V6 springs on a V8 will give it the 2" drop you are looking for. Now these are not "Sportline" springs, but they will give you the 2" drop you are looking for. A 2" drop will be EXTREMELY low and choppy no matter what type of setup you use.

The gentleman that sold you the kit quoted you "Sportlines" because he didn't understand the meeting as it was explained.

If you still want to return the set, thats fine, but you would be okay with the setup. I know of a few people that run 6cyl springs on their GT's and they like them.

Thanks Marc. I talked to Pat yesterday and returned them. I'm dead set on having the Sportlines. I kept the bumpsteer kit and caster camber plates since I'll still need them.

Yeah, I was a little pissed when I opened the box and knew they weren't Sportlines. I remember now when I called and asked for them by name they didn't really say yes, but just said "yeah, a two inch drop". I'm not bashing UPR or anything... what they gave me might have worked perfectly, but I'm just not about to spend my whole Saturday doing brakes, shocks, struts, and springs only to find out I don't like the ride height when it's all said and done. From a price standpoint it would have been awesome. The springs were only $150, but I found the true Sportlines for $220 so I got them. I've looked a tons of cars and the ones I like all have true Sportline springs, so that's what I want on mine.

If you were in the meeting you might understand better why the mistake was made. We would NEVER mislead anyone. It was a simple human error that was corrected immediatly at no cost to the buyer other than a few extra days of waiting. He was not hassled or given a hard time for the return. So before you drive yourself crazy wondering how the mistake was made, just remember...

It's not the actual mistake by a company, it's how it is delt with.

No complaints from me (the actual buyer). It's taken care of... the merch is on it's way back and I wasn't hassled over it. I'm in the biz (Porsche, MB, and BMW parts) so I know how it goes. I never intended this to be a UPR bashing post so let's put it to bed.
