so i recently bought cams from another member on here(duffy) and i've got a set of pi heads and i wanted to get them ported, polished and all that. the place i was gonna take them to around here is gonna charge me roughly 1200 to do this. the guy from the machine shop said he had a set of tfs heads there for 1800...my question is this...i could spend 1200 on my pi heads, 1600 for stage lll patriot heads or 1800 on tfs heads...WHATS THE DIFFERENCE? im keeping my bottom end stock

trickflow heads have different valve positioning, better flow and less PTV issues.

1) TFS have a Intake to exahust valve placement as a 3 valve would. Better flow and have seem some pretty good results.
2) Patriot's I have their stage II's and boy I have had nothing but issues with them. Port job is fine, but the issues is the valve seals and guides, with the vlaves they use. Its actually the reason the whole motor came apart.
3) Port your heads, Sure send yours out to Nick and see what he can do for you. If you get them done by Nick or even the stage II's from Patriot your gonna be in the same area as I was last spring (304/310) for numbers with those cams.

Do what you wand what your money provides. Personally if I had the money I would buy the Trick's

My heads were ported, polished, and had all new parts put in them (titanium valves, bronze valve guides, comp springs, etc) for $800 from a local guy who works out of his garage, he did a beauitiful job.

As far as Patriot heads, all i've heard are complaints about them.
