unless you absolutely love your car, and your that stuck on it, i wouldn't do it.. besides.. my bolt on gt with gears and streets tires was beating up 5.0 sn95 gt's all day long at the track, so theres not much point in it at all. up to you though. K member, harnesses, most everything, have fun swapping a v8 car to a v8 :hammer:

+1 It's really not worth it. Unless you enjoy that much work. Stay PI.

I bought my PI motor for my 96 GT from a guy with an 02 GT. He converted to pushrod power. He claims it was the worst thing he could have done. It's a drag car now with no creature comforts and it's still slower than when he had the 4.6 with a 125 shot, valve springs, gears, and tires, A/C, power steering and everything else.

It took him almost 2 years to finish too. Just too many small un-foreseen parts and pieces needed to make it all work.
If you want a pushrod start with a pushrod.
His mileage went from mid-twenties MPG to 10 MPG.

don't do it. i wouldn't because of obd2 testing.

Don't forget that not all states have the emissions crap.

most will soon ... trust me.

unless they choose to force it on SC.. i doubt it. We tried that back in the 90s, and it was an absolute joke.. besides, by that time my shop will be certified to pass cars for emissions, if you catch my drift :naughty:

Haha you guys are horrible. I think that in 1996 was the first year for OBD II so that could cause some problems, as the modular 4.6 was the first year they had the standardized OBD II. Not that you guys seem to care that much about emissions :lame: but its just something to think about :)

why a 5.0? when i THINK (not sure) you can get a mach1 motor and bolt it on as simple as that, there is a guy that just sold his 98 gt with a mach 1 motor-tranny

i cant remeber his name tho? ill be back
