Is a 4R70W out of a 2002 GT worth anything? My son bought a parts car and he put the trans up for sale and hasn't gotten any hits. I'm getting tired of banging my shin on the bellhousing.

Theyre a dime a dozen since Ford used them in so many different models. How much is he asking? They can be had for pretty cheap.

I think its up for $500 with the converter. Just too bad he can't find someone with a manual wanting to go auto. Then they could swap.

Ive never bought one so I cant say whether thats fair or not but Id venture to say hes asking too much for it. Maybe look at what others in the area are going for?

I did some looking and couldn't find any for sale funny enough. He ended up getting talked down to $300. Which isn't bad seeing as that's what he paid for the whole car. And he still has the shell to get rid of.
