These things are strong man I want to say around 700. But the stock converter can not handle as much as the trans.

the 4r70w's are rated for 700ft lbs at the input shaft stock (that's what the 70 stands for) and the 4r75w's are rated for 750ft lbs

with that being said, i'm not sure how far these are getting taken in stock form before they break...

ok good, cuz im installing a pretty much stock 02 lightning motor with the exception of a pulley and want to make sure this tranny can handle it without me beating on it

depends on how you're using the power, high stall with slicks launching they arent going to handle as much as a mild converter. the HIT is what kills them, not peak power.

i run a 3500 stall, tranny cooler, and custom valve body, and believe it or not my input shaft went babying the car. next thing i know go to step on the gas and the car just tacks, no forward gear. Only reverse.

promise the damage wasnt done under normal driving, it might have let go at that point, but i'm sure the damage didnt come from normal driving.

how is the 3500 around town/highway/etc..... what brand did you go with, if you could do it again would you change anything about your trans setup?
