first off, it never ran right to begin with, but now its extremely hard to start, and it doesnt have any power anymore, it wont even spin a tire on a wet road, and when the rpms get up high it spits and sputters and the rpms dont increase anymore, and i have to let off of it for it to shift, my guess is timing, but i have had no experience with distributor motors, ive heard it needs to be set a 16 deg. with the spout connector undone (not shure what that is), any help would be greatly appreciated, if you need me to clarify anything just ask

If you're timing is really far advanced it will create a hard-start condition. I would start with around 10 degrees initial with the spout out.

You should also follow the "how to fix your idle" thread or whatever it's called.

Also, check for things like appropriate fuel pressure, and spark.

Spout connector is a little grey tab coming off of a wiring harness on the passenger side inner fender near the strut tower. Around the same place as your TFI module which is bolted in a heat sink to the fender.

Yep, that will slow you down a bit. Go buy a timing light and a hayne's or chilton's manual to help you out. Oh, and the bolt for the distributor hold-down can be tricky sometimes if you don't have the right tool or if the engine is hot.
