5.4 block strength

It depends on what production 5.4 block you're referring to. There are a couple of different blocks - The GT block, which will probably handle close to 2,000 hp, the Lightning block, which I think will handle a pretty good amount of power with some good internals, maybe 800 -1,000 or more (I'm not real sure, correct me if I'm wrong) and I'm not totally sure that the Navigator/F-150 blocks are much different than the Lightning ones, but again, I'm not 100% sure. I do know that there have been 1,200-1,400 hp cars that had navigator blocks though, so who knows.

The Navigator blocks came with forged internals likes the 03-04 cobra's did as did the lighting motor as for the F-150 its not a built bottom end but they will handle up to 700HP i believe

im talking about the F-X50 series as well as the E-X50 series engines...
sorry should have clarified :wall:
if a lightning long block w/o supercharger wasnt so expesive id hunt one of those down

im lookin at like 1000 longblocks at salvage yards that i'll forge the internals an go from there

nah im looking for a new engine for the 96 then im gettin the edlebrock top-end kit for the 66 :thumb:
