GT500 supercharger setups are now an option. Check over at nloc.net and do a search for "GT500 lightning m122".

Hood clearance will still be a major issue but you should be able to clear a 3"-3.5" cowl.

dumb question

what year/make/model vehicles have 5.4Liter 2 valves that would be a candidate for this swap??

E-150/250/350, F-150/250/350, Lightning, Expedition, Excursion from

97-03 - viable candidates for shortblocks.
97/98 - strong likelihood of a forged crank (NPI heads though)
00-03 - PI heads and usually a cast crank (lightnings had forged steel)
01-03 - probably an NVH block, 18-21lbs heavier.

The ideal motor for a straight swap is a 00'-03 since they came with PI heads.

any of them should do... I used a 00 E-150 cover. Expedition and van covers are probably the best but it really shouldn't matter much.

not with an HPS intake. stock hood works fine with it. With adapter plates there can be more interference but it's normally minor. Motor mounts are mustang mounts, use your stockers or poly urethane replacements.

egr, you'll have to modify your stock egr tube if you choose to use it. Most of us delete it but that can be a problem in states that are sticky about emissions.

Yeah man, the 5.4 willl run fine on the 4.6. If you start modding anything I would highly recomend getting a tune though

ive had my 5.4 bottom end rebuilt an finished for sometime now. just family an funds seem to tough to pass lol. anyway my plan for the

5.4 was, stock pi heads, with a good strong cam, an the hps intake, with a good street tune. what cam do u guy think would make the

best/biggest power an tq without being to wild. an i also am able to get my hands on a 03 pi motor, for around the same price i could finish

up my 5.4. do u all think i should scrap the 5.4 an go with the 4.6pi or what??? iam super curious on what u all think would be the better build,

the 5.4 or the 4.6?????

Hey, my buddy's dad owns an auto wrecking company just outside of my city. I was rather curious about this swap. Seeing as though I can most likely get and engine and everything I need from him for 500$ he said hah. Before I jump to any irrational thoughts, what would be a good cam to go with for a 5.4? I've got 4.10's that I'm throwing in sometime too. I also have a 2.5 inch cowl hood I believe, would the stock intake work fine until the HPS?
