5.4 Triton?

My buddy has an expedition that is sitting and doing nothing because it needs some work done to it. I asked him if he was gonna part it out, and maybe it would be a cool thing to try to rebuild for shits and gigs as a first project over the summer and just sell it after...But ive seen 5.4L on here ... Is it even possible to do a swap from an expedition triton engine into a V6? i would need the whole car presumably, but if the price is right.. Engine has 200k+miles on it so a rebuild would be essential.

you can swap basically anything you want, unless its way too big. I think that would be fun and something kinda different.

Well everyone says "it is more cost efficient to just save for a GT" So i am not sure if a new project like this, if it is new, would be too much of a hassle. I was thinking get the engine and flip it...and if it fits why not

yeah, I say rebuild it, and then make your decision from there cause you'll make money flipping it anyways.

the Expedition's 5.4 Triton would swap in the same way as a 4.6 except it is taller and would also need custom headers. you would have to replace pretty much everything other than the actual engine itself (Intake Manifolds, Accessories, mustang GT Hydroboost system)

if you rebuild it, it would be worth while. what year is it from? 97-98's only made 230hp and 99-02's made 260hp but had 350ftlbs of torque

04-04 are the same as 99-02. both 5.4L 2V PI engines rated at 260hp and 350tq.

some trickflow heads, plus cams would be beastly on one

Yeah i think it would be a cool project..He has a family heirloom E36 318i that is hella clean on the outside and he drives that...so i am going to tell him id be doing him a favor
