if you just want a t5 then you can look to spend as much as 17-1800 bucks for a complete kit. amp performance and mpsautosalvage.com have them. i bought everything individually and it took me about 3-4 months to find everything i needed and when all said and done i spent around 1300 bucks. i did all the work myself so i really saved there. i would imagine a shop would charge atleast 700 bucks maybe more to do the swap for you.

Why would you want to get rid of your AODE for a 5 speed? Yeah 5 speeds you might have a little less HP lose when you mod but autos are faster. Just put a stall and gears and damn.... yeah

I wouldn't want to do a swap in mine now that I've learned so much more about how nice the auto trannys can be.
Why do you think people with 03 cobras are spending like 4,000 to swap out their 6 speeds for an auto?
haha

Think about it, plus swapping it is a PITA

an auto is more consistant but i wouldnt necessarily say that it is faster. i had an auto in my car when i got it and i gotta say the car was a totally different animal with the 5spd in it. the car is way more fun to drive with the 5spd and i can pick what gear i want the car to be in. the auto is better for drag racing and thats about it. i like to do more than just drag race my car. i cant say that an auto car with a good stall, good shift kit and a ratcheting shifter is not fun too.

As fastgtfairlane already pointed out an Auto is more consistant, that is why drag guys like them. In a typical street car a 5sp will be faster, less drivetrain lose and the ability to keep it in the powerband.

the auto will be faster in a drag only car but in street cars the 5spd is faster all the way around. the only way an auto will keep up even on the strip in street cars is to have a built auto. the 5spd will also get better gas mileage. let me know if you decide to do the swap and i will get you a list of the needed parts.

i did my t5 swap for about 950. it took me about 2 or 3 months to get it all together. then i sold my old aode and computer and harness for 450. so i only had about 500 in it all together, and yes there is a big difference, and yes it is alot more fun to drive. i dropped 4/10 in the 1/4 mile alone. i had a stall and shift kit in my aode and i must say the 5 speed is alot more fun then the slush box. if you are bracket racing, then yes the slush box is the way to go, but for a dd i would go with the 5 speed.
