Update on the 6R80 conversion.
Everything went relatively well. I forgot getting the trans in with the long tubes in place was quite the challenge!
The only real issue I have is getting it to idle properly in gear and with AC running.
I had to raise the base idle to 1100 and it helps.
I need to find a way to tell the computer when it is in gear and then have my tune file adjusted for the IAC circuit.
My computer and harness are for a manual car, so not sure what input/how I can do that.
Open to suggestions.

Thanks,
Ryan

Haven't posted about this car in a while.
Not much to report as my shoulder surgery has kept me from the racetrack this year with the car.
I did contact my original tuner and had him touch up the cold start and idle some since going from the manual to the 6R80 auto.
Car still makes the same power (700rwhp) with less boost than previous years (21 pounds now compared to 26 pounds previously) as I was overspinning the little 2.3.
Enjoy the video.

Man, I was just thinking about this car a couple days ago. I was going to message you and see if you had ran the car yet. I’m curious to see how the FTI torque converter is doing compared to the previous Circle D torque converter.

With the FTI converter it was immediately a tenth faster right off the trailer.
After I played with the shift points and the lockup for 4th and 5th gear, it went a 9.8X but at only 125mph because it shredded my belt.
I haven't been back since, but I have a feeling it could go 9.70's on a decent track at about 144mph if the belt stays on.

Here's that pass - Goto the 6:00 mark for the pulls.

It looks like it hits the tires pretty hard when you leave. My circle d converter does not do that. I always feel like it’s leaving too soft, it has done a best 60’ of 1.59

I’ve got to swap the engine out and I’m very seriously thinking about ordering an FTI converter and giving that a shot when it goes back together.

I had a Circle D previously in my TTsaleen and tried it in the Mach1 years ago.
It was also very tight and would pull the car down at idle where it would stall in gear. I HATED it.
This FTI converter is awesome. Car will idle around 950rpm in gear no issue.
It flashes pretty good too and on the transbrake it will hit around 3,800rpm.
I like it.
Matter of fact, it hits hard enough that I had to launch in 2nd gear on the 2nd pass and had about a 1.5 better 60 foot time!
