My daughters 2004 V6/5spd coupe has an 8.8 from the factory. She is the only owner so I know this is how it came from Ford.

How is this possible?

Last remaining out of the parts bin. Car might be a late made 04. Like built in May.

Op how do you know its an 8.8? Visually the 7.5 and 8.8 look very similar. The only real difference Ive seen is the difference in shape of the differential cover.

The rear end is identical in appearance to the rear end in my 97 Cobra.

Take pics of the hogs head, aka pumpkin, aka gear housing. Post it here. I’ll tell you for sure. They look almost identical if your not sure what to look for.

The 8.8 is more squared up on the sides where as the 7.5 is totally more of an oval, almost football shaped.
