92 5.0 Fox in question...

So here is a car local to me for sale for $2500 obo... I'll post the ad and pictures then my questions.

1992 5.0 Fox Body Stang. Just over 20k on the Odometer.

Car is in fair condition. For this price I would run it as is.
Needs a corner light and some paint on the hood, cowl, and some touch-up on the body to make it perty.

-Engine has new bearings, seals, oil pump, alternator, and Eldebrock air intake.
-Engine and transmission have both been gone through just over 2000 miles ago.
-As you will probably notice from the pics the windshield is cracked.
-Damage is barely visible from outside of the car and not much more noticeable from inside.

-Car runs like a scalded dog.

From the pictures it seems like it's had a rough life... like excessively rough for 20,000 miles... The driver seat isn't a big deal as a pair of racing seats can fix that...

The color... is meh... I got the hook up on paint jobs... can have it painted for roughly $800.

Which the body damage would be fixed at the time....

Corner light aint shit....


My question...should I jump on this? What should I offer him?

Kind of crazy to have a Fox with 20k miles on it for sub 2500.

i think that looks like a good buy, she needs a little work but thats a good price. you should ask 2000 grand and see what he says!!!!

If it is a TRUE 5.0 car jump on it man. I would double check and see if it isn't a 4cyl swapped to 5.0 though. Hell, buy it, a little paint job, clean up the interior and flip it for that price.

Original color was green...

I got a buddy that does paint and body... I can probably get the body work fixed and painted gloss black for $800ish...

I think gloss black with some blue oval smoked headlights and some new oem red tails....sitting on some weld wheels...

Guess the car has an eldebrock intake / pullies / 70mm tb / cam (not sure of brand) / and some other misc items...

Guy wouldn't budge off of 2500...

He leaves for school on the 1st though and said if it's not sold by then he will sell it to me for $2,000...

Im too much of a cheap ass to dish out the extra $500... thing needs some body work and paint.... and thats gonna be a grand... plus that extra $500 could be my new lights for it.

So I guess I'll wait till the 1st.

2500 is way to much... Guy I know just sold one in better condition that that for 1800... It had good paint, interior, good windshield, T5, and 110k... It was a GT, and it ran good... only big problem was the rear tires were worn. All it needed was a detail... and I detailed it...

Why does everyone on here think these old cars are so fuckin special? They're a dime a dozen.

That car is all sorts of fucked up. Needs interior, needs paint and body work, needs head/tail lights, needs a windshield, runs like shit, AOD trannies suck asshole, has probably had the shit beat out of it its entire life. I bet its got rust too...

Don't waste your money, it needs too much. Keep looking, you will find a better deal.

Pass, I can find you a way nicer one than that for 1500 bucks and pocket 1k of your money as a finders fee, lol.
