94 brake rotors

Not sure if this is exactly the right spot. Looking at upgrading to drilled/slotted. But would cobra rotors work with GT calipers? It's a $20 difference from GT to cobra rotors.

No. Cobra rotors are 13" and GT/V6 rotors are 11". You could upgrade to the 13", but then you need front Cobra calipers/brackets and lines.

Also, IMO, leave the rotors blank, and get some good pads if you want to upgrade. Better yet, get 99-04 GT calipers and good pads. Bleed all the brake fluid to a synthetic DOT 3/4 and you'll feel like you droppen an anchor out the window when you hit the brakes.

I'm looking at basic cheap(er) upgrades right now. The GT drilled/slotted are 153 for all 4 corners rotors and pads

I bought the Brakemotive's from Ebay and have been running them for a few thousand miles, can't say they are any better than stock, but the look cleaner,

Are they really not better at all? Maybe I'll just get control arms.

i mean for the price to get the zinc coating and ceramic pads I think it's worth it keeps my rims clean and the rotors looking good, believe it or not i ran them on my trailblazer and 80,000 miles later i still have the rotors on the truck so they hold up.

No. Besides, street driving does not create enough heat.

If you want to upgrade, do the 99-04 front calipers, some EBC green pads at all corners, and change out the fluid. It will feel like a new car. It will be a $250ish upgrade, but you'll feel it.

Control arms is a great upgrade as well if you still have the stockers.

I upgraded to PBR calipers, threw in new lines and just got normal, un-drilled rotors. The new calipers really made a difference and it was a pretty easy install. I'd say save your money from the drilled/slotted rotors and get decent pads + PBR calipers from a 99-04 GT if you want to get a little fancy.

and u just have to grind some on the spindle for the calipers to fit, right? been lookin in jy for a 99-04 just for the calipers,brackets,and lines.

If you have a 94-95 then yes.

Well now there's some to think about. The only problem with the upgrade being 250 is convincing the wife it's necessary when we are trying to save to by a house

I do have a set of 99-04 PBR calipers, brackets, and newer rubber lines. They are race car loved,

, but I'll let them go cheap. The only thing wrong with them is the dust boots on the pistons are gonners. Heat from racing just burns those up, you really don't need them, but you can buy the boots and replace them. PM me if you're interested and I'll verify exactly what I have.

As previously mentioned, drilled rotors don't perform any better than blanks, but they do indeed look cool, and they're perfectly fine for boulevard cruising. Cobra brakes are relatively inexpensive, look great, and work really well. The 99-04 PBRs are even less expensive, and also perform great. The reality is, for boulevard cruising, your stock brakes are more than adequate. Beyond that, it's basically a matter of bling-per-dollar unless you are actually doing road course events, at which point there are other considerations that you need to evaluate.

I got mine for $60 shipped. Calipers, brackets, and lines. Deals are all over the place.

Just yesterday a set of COMPLETE front Cobra brakes went for $150 on the corral.

I'm currently running the brakemotive d&s rotors with their ceramic pads and they're pretty much like stock.
I can't wait to throw on the new calipers.

And if you decide to go the PBR route the grinding on the spindles isn't that much. It chewed through a whole grinding wheel but only took me about 3-4 min. for each side. Not sure what I would have done without air tools, though.

Good deal. Make sure you get new brake lines too--the stock ones are slightly different on one side for the PBR calipers, might as well just throw new lines in while you're in there.
