i have a 94 cobra but it has a mustang gt motor because prev owner blew head gasket... i have the stock motor and heads and i know i can get a few extra hp with the gt40s and i wanted to know a good suggestion for a cam to run in my car... i know my computer is finicky and heard the trick flow stage one and steeda #19 work well in my car... car has a few bolt ons so dont plan on custon grind quite yet.... my plan is to do the heads and a cam with my cobra manifold and will these cams work with my 1.7 ratio rockers. once i have that done i will be ordereing the on 3 performance turbo kit for my car... im shooting for 400rwhp until i have funds to build a motor...guys im new to mustangs really so any suggestions are appreciated... and also when installing cam and heads do i need new pushrods or just lifters

I run a Steeda #19 cam and I like it, you should probably measure for correct pushrod length and it's a good idea to get hardened rods. I used 6.25" pushrods in my car but you should measure to be sure. If you're planning on getting it tuned though then it really shouldn't matter which cam you go with.

+1

Keep the stock cam for a turbo unless you're willing to spend $300+ for a custom cam.

I'm using an Anderson Ford B31 cam, no complaints which can be used mostly with stock parts.

The Steeda cam was originally designed as a boost cam

Completely different ball game.

Turbo's don't like a lot of overlap..superchargers on the other hand love it.

the anderson B cams perform well NA with a shitty flowing head because of the lift and the fact that the exh duration is favored

the closest ive ever seen with an OTS camshaft and gt40 heads to cracking 300hp was with an anderson B41 and a TFS 2

give it plenty of intake and gear and you can build a pretty quick NA 5.0 cobra

What's the difference? Fwiw it's advertised as having a low overlap so it's probably just fine for either.
