When is doing the cobra clone look going to far? I have a 94 GT, i got a 95 cobra motor in it with a 96 to 98 cobra front end and a set of bullet wheels with the cobra emblems. The only thing on the car that tells that it is a GT is the rear bumper and the emblems on the fenders. My question should i go all out for the cobra look or should i just let it ride? Also did the 94 95 Cobras have different rotors and calipers?

I did the same thing your doing. I have a 1994 cobra motor and I did it all out. But I did a couple of things different, like my side emblems are backwards(something little but still says its a clone), and its an auto. But I went with a cobra rear bumper and cobra emblems. Some guys don't really like it but it's your car so go with what you like.

yeah the 94-95 cobra had a V6 bumper i thought. I'm fine with the body mods but not a fan of fake snakes with emblems of the real deal.

Fill in all the letters on the rear or just leave STANG

Only thing I don't like about the just Stang is it is not centered. Crap like that would drive me nuts, on my car.

actually, "stang" is centered on a gt bumper if you fill in the mu and gt.

The 94-95 Cobra's say "Mustang" on them just like the V6... If/when I go to replace my rear bumper I think I'm going to go with that one... I am working on th same thing... but reality... its not a cobra... But that doesn't mean it isn't faster than a Cobra! :) Whatever you do make sure it makes you happy screw everybody else... :eek:ccasion14:

Having cobra emblems on the wheels isn't bad at all, many people have them. Heck, I want to get SVT ones to replace my AFS cobra center caps, I want a cleaner look. Cobra emblems on fenders is a big big arguement on this board :p.

I get shiz for mine all the time (the hood wheels and spoiler I dont have emblems or bumper) but it is what I like. I have cobra r stuff from a completely different style car on mine but I love it. I have the wheels, carbon fiber cowl hood, and the big spoiler. I like to think it makes people think im slow or mexican so they really get upset when I hook. I keep the bottle warm too, because you never know when you just need a little insurance. This bodystyle car is so much fun because mustang and cheby guys know how weak these things rolled out of the stable. I like it when they ask if I have a 4v and I tell em it just has mufflers and a vornado. Mod it like you want it these cars are for fun with a laughable resale value.

The Bullitt wheels with Cobra center caps is fine. That was not a Cobra thing, so it is all aftermarket. Cobra emblems on a GT I don't like.

I'm not reading the other responses but 94/95 Cobras were 5spd and 3.08's. Also the rear brake light was built into the rear deck spoiler Cobra markings on airbags, matching floor mats and white face guages at 160 m.p.h. Colors were Rio Red, White, Black there is plenty more to add but I will let others chime in...

Doing a cobra clone is all fine and dandy... just don't try to go around claiming that it's a REAL COBRA.

Having a cobra engine changes things slightly, Im still not really ok w/ it having cobra badges but having that it does have a Cobra engine I would let that slide as long as you put them on backwards.

As far as non Cobra's go it does not matter how well a clone is done, or if the car makes 800RWHP it is still not a cobra b/c it did not come from Ford w/ a build sheet and production number. Id much rather have a stock 94/95 Cobra then a 550 RWHP supercharged GT/Cobra clone.

Actually, it's still not. It was Mustang' 'GT. There is that space between the 2 words. That causes it to be not centered.

I wouldnt worry about the badges too much. If the car is fast they will know it is a modded gt :thefinger: the cobra guys are usually vin whores and proud of their <300whp sleds

Having a real Cobra has nothing to do with the stock power output, it's that it's a limited-production numbered car from ford and no amount of power or mods will make a GT or V6 a Cobra, and that's the bottom line.
