My mom works hard and does so many wonderful things for me. Then she does this...

and this is hers

I feel like crap right now. Not only does it suck because its my car but i have the ONLY clean sn95 in this area. The rest are either riced out or beat up. My brother backed my car up to get out the fourwheeler so as she cut the wheel to head out the drive she cut to soon and didnt see my car. Now i have to put down a $500 deductible for insurance so thats a major set back. What do you guys think it would cost to fix this? Its not totalled is it? I have never dealt with with insurance for a damaged vehicle so any tips for getting this fixed right is appreciated.
thanks
jacob

wait, your brother backed your car out and your mother hit it with her truck and you have to file a claim and pay a deductible on your own insurance?

i'd be raising hell with both my mother and brother if that was me. they'd be paying out of their own pockets (or filing a claim with their insurance) and i'd be damn sure that i wouldnt be paying a cent

I doubt its totaled, but your going to need a whole new quarter panel. I asked a body question about a little dent in that spot and sn95forums told it was going to be hell to remove and it was stress bubble or something.

Im not 100% on the whole insurance thing. Im too angry to talk to my mom in a sensible way right now so ill have to wait and see. The car is on her insurance because its way cheaper so basically to the insurance company she hit her own car so i dont know how that will work. Money is very tight right now with my family so im going to shell out the $500 until she can pay me back. With me going off to college this really hurts.

Sorry to hear and see it happened. But this is a not a cheap fix. I have seen a stang get totaled for that your best bet is to get it fixed privately. That's my .02

Whats it going to cost to get fixed privately 1-2000? i cant afford that. Im going to college and have no money. Its gotta go to insurance. If they total it what will they give me for it? $3000? Im screwed all together here but my options are few.

Just look at the kbb for it. Usually if it cost more then 51% of what the car is worth, they will total it. This was what was told to me about 8 yrs ago from my insurance agent. It could have changed by now.

it depends on the insurance company but the average is about 80% of the cars value in damage and they will total it.

my mother actually almost did the same thing to mine but only ended up with a good scrape and a broken mirror. IT was still all 100% on her insurance and there is no deductible except what she will pay to fix her car if she gets it fixed.

I hear a quarter panel is a quick way to total these so hopefully this will not be the case. Now think of the good news that maybe you can get your mirrors painted at the same time. I did......

yeah my insurance said it took 70% of the value or so to total my car when i hit a deer, you definitely shouldn't have to pay for that though man that is weak. sucks when money is tight but overall if you pay for it and get it fixed good as new you'll have a big load off your mind.

Why the germinate should his mom pay the damage? Yes she made a mistake and hit his car but these comment's from some make no sense at all!!! His mom should pay?!? :dontknow: wtf... no one saw where he posted that his car is under his mom's policy wtf!!! obviously he cannot afford to insure the car on his own, or he's trying to save money by having it insured under his mom's carrier, and he obviously live's in her home, more than likely rent free... So whoever posted the silly they hit your car they should pay need's to stop trying to get this kid all wound up! His mom made a mistake, once things cool down see what options if any your mom is offering! but dont strain a relationship at home over your car, cars can be fixed/replaced...

I know it's going to cost some loot if you fix it on your own! but your insurance will alway's get the repair money back by 1. raising your premiums! or 2. by canceling your mom's policy! so it may be more beneficial for you to fix this on your own over time... sorry but there is no easy way out of this! just forgive your mom! im sure she know's how much you love you stang and probably feel's crummy enough...
