Alright all. I have the opportunity to purchase a friend of mine's 1996 Mustang GT, but I don't know if I want to. I have a 1994 Mustang GT. Both cars need some work. Should I get the 1996 and sell my 1994 or keep my 1994 and pass up on the 1996?? Here is some info on both cars. Both cars have manual transmissions.

Good
1994 ~ TFS top end kit (TFS1 cam, street heads, street burner intake), full bolt-ons, 3.73:1 gears, 100 shot N2O, SCT multi-bank chip

1996 ~ PI H/C/I swap, full bolt-ons, 4.10:1 gears w/31 spline axles & Trac-loc diff., SCT tuned

Bad
1994 ~ Dent in driver side fender, doesn't run due to a N2O backfire (possible bent valve), rebuilt title

1996 ~ Missing fog lights due to a deer collision, bad exhaust leak, ABS light always on, engine code saying all cylinders are running rich

Now the nitrous (if I decide to keep it) would swap right over to the 1996 so I am not worried about that.

So what would you do and why?? I'm having a hard time deciding on fixing my 1994 and keeping it or getting the 1996 and then selling my 1994 when I get it fixed.

Not sure how much you think you can get off the 94 since it doesnt run, has a dent and rebuilt title

I assume if you get the 96 you can move your fogs into it, exhaust leak is just a pain in the butt but not anything major, running rich could mean bad tune. As for the ABs light, what does it have for tires on it? If the fronts are over 1" difference in diameter it will set off the ABs light, if that isn't the case it may take some seriousl troublshooting

96, Fog lights are cheap, exhaust is going to be changed ANYWAY so why worry about that, abs light, look and see whats going on prob needs a wheel speed sensor, and as far as the cel/engine running rich, remember its obdII so you have wayyy more ease of checking that and diagnosis then you would with obd I setup.

Thanks for the input guys. Keep it up. :eek:ccasion14: All 4 tires on the '96 are the same size, and it already has L/T headers (I believe they are rusted out), O/R H-pipe, and a cat-back. He said he has all the gaskets and new hardware to fix it (he was looking at some Kooks headers not long ago) he just hasn't fixed it. The '94 I would get running and fix the dent before selling it (my uncles have a body shop so it is cheap for me to get it fixed).

The '96 sounds better if for nothing other than it doesn't have a rebuilt title.

Truthfully though, both cars sound like modded headaches that haven't been cared for. If I were you, I'd sell my '94 and look for a clean stocker.
