94 tuning issues????

ok so i have a 94 5.0 with full bolt ons (intake headers exhaust 3.73 gears upper and lower intake manifolds, camshaft, pulleys, smog pump delete, 65mm throttle body)

i recently put a 150 shot on it and now it seems to like make no power on motor i make like 250whp and 300wtq and on bottle i only made 310 and 400wtq something doesnt seem right to me on a 150 shot i was under the impression it meant 150hp lol maybe im completly wrong but idk what to do. what could be the issue. they said it was cause the temp inside the shop even with the fans on the car was about 125* (thanks South Florida!!!) so maybe thats why? idk anyone have any ideas?


ps its a zex box kit.

and my a/f was about 12.4

first of all I have zero experience with nitrous... so...

In general I would say that it is all relative. A 150 shot doesn't exactly mean you will get 150hp. I would think that it would do so much for one car and something totally different on another.

I don't think the numbers are all that bad either, esp if you still have stock heads as well.

sorry, I'm not much help. There are def guys on here that know more about nitrous than I do.

I'm sure 100+ temps weren't helping much either.

off topic whats your car run off bottle?

i have exact same mod except cam but i have roller rockers.
( 1.7:1)

zex doesnt quite make as big of numbers compared to other companies like nx nos etc.

ur running colder plugs, pulling timing etc right? also how was the bottle pressure

im running UR5's which is a pretty cold plug for the 5.0 and im running a 150 shot on the dyno i had 1300psi in the bottle we had JUST filled it like an hour before. me and a friend were talking about the zex nitrous box kit. and we both came to believe that it regulates the amount of nitrous to how much fuel it pulls additionally to try and level out the fuel. so theoretically speaking it could upfront be a 150 shot but could vary to a 100 shot or even a steady 75 shot for all i know. but for some reason i really think thats what is happening.

when we went to moroso it was about 90* out and very very humid and spinning through first i pulled a 14.0 at 99mph with a 1.9 60' i havnt been able to run yet because theyre completly re-doing moroso. ^_^ cant wait till its done. until then my clutch is about shot from the nitrous and i am gonna just wait and get some heads/cam and maybe a better nitrous kit. the only reason i really like this one is because its one of the more safe ones.

My experience was that Zex hits the numbers at crank and NX quotes numbers at the wheels. That doesnt mean one kit is better than the other as the pill sizes are different. And also, those numbers were just about right on with my TORQUE not horsepower.

i had a 150 nx kit before i had sc and bottle and just bottle a 150 shot 1 made just under a extr 125 hp range but i think they or correct about zex they run a little on the safe side which is good i guess but im after the # not my dd
