I am thinking of getting a stock fox body block 87 to 92, so i will get so better pistons for my setup. My question what kind of differences are there between the 2 blocks and how much stronger is one compared to the other?

they are the same block, the only diff is youll want the foxbody motor that will have forged pistons but 93-95 you will get the shity not boost friendley hypeteunic pistons but the block should be the same stock for all 5.0 based, I think the only diff is the ford explorer / truck's f150's / svt, they have 351's in the lightings and reg f150 is a stronger "truck block" and the cobra has same motor with gt40 top end, otherwise they should be the same

what i did was put forged pistons in my block and i would think this would be better way for you to go also dont pay to buy a block because it has forged pistons because you dont know if they need to be replace untill motor is apart but most of them motors that age have been rode hard and put up wet(they run the shit out of them motors)

I just popped the heads off a 88 GT motor, with 110k on it that had been owned by the Beverly Hillbillies. Seriously, these people were straight out of Deliverence and had slammed a crub hard enough to yank the rack off the car.

Sylinder is lightly glazed, has crosshatching, and is only .008 out of round.

Those 2618 Pistons ain't no joke. Along with Fords cylinder prep of course.
