ok i found the under hood one, it says eec test.. right? anyways i have a obd 2 scanner. i dont have a one. will the one under the dash still read without a CEL on?

i done the self test with the wire and i got a 511 code and a 332 code. 511 is PCM which i have heard is the car has a chip then it will read this, not sure though so any help will be appreciated. the 332 code is a egr opening problem which i believe this is because i have the egr tube welded up.

Yes the 511 code is if the car has a chip. Mine throws the same one. The Ford OBDI scanners are cheap and its something everyone with a pre 96 should have as the cars are getting up in age and things can start to go wacky with them.
