One end should be a cup for a small ball socket and the other end is slotted. PM me a pic and I can tell you.

Thats the one I have also. I purchased one thinking it was the problem with my shifter not wanting to move easily, come to find it was the shifter itself, not the cable. So now I have an extra one laying around.
