I think you do need it, there is a way to make the stock ones work but im not sure, hopefully someone else will chime in.

BUT....first......

WHY?! I used to want the horizontal lights too but then I was talked out of it and in the long run im glad I like mine, make the ass end look wider and meaner. Plus the main deciding factor, you hardly see any 5.0 SN95s out there...REPRESENT 5.0!!! :)

:embarrassed:

do i get excuse if one of the tails had a hole and water was getting in it? thats why i switched

Yes,you can do either way splice them or buy the harness.

Harness cost me about $18 in the junk yard,im sure splice the wires will be much cheaper.

i did the vert harness mod. really easy to do , highly recomended. leave the 5.0 tails. that sets us apart from the mod squad.

Yeah horizontal lights have become somehow rare?

Try the junk yard you might find a nice set along with the harness.

Yeah you can splice it if you know a little about wiring but you want to make sure you use the right connectors. If you really wanna do it just do it right though. Why not do it right the first time. Cause you will just have to go back and do it again later and plus look at the upside it will look cleaner also with a new harness....... To each his own but i still think the 94-95 Tails are the shiznit !!! I plan on taking mine off soon and doing a nice Wet sand and polish to them. And also painting the surrounds a flat black. What would you guys use after a good sand and polish?? Would you use some clear poly on the lights ???

On my 95 you have to extend some wires.. AND cut off the little bulb and replcae that bulb socket with the bigger bulb socket....

It would be easier just to buy a harness from the junkyard.

I used to want to change to the verticals as well so I can do the sequential thing, but as soon as my 95 was parked next to my dads 98, I decided to leave them. Horizontals look so much wider. I have actually lit the bottom bar on mine. I just have to finish the corners on them. Good luck.

I changed to the verticals and I'm still happy with my decision. After you lower the car and install wide wheels and tires on the rear you realize the 5.0 tail lights are not needed to make the car look mean and wide, as my car looks plenty of both with the 96 tails...

But if you guys want the sausage fest tail lights on your car then represent for me :eek:ccasion14:
