96 With Horizontal Rear Lights

I'm going to look at a 96 GT but for some reason it still has the horizontal rear lights like on the 94-95 shape rather than the vertical lights, I thought they changed in 96? Or could this one be a very early 96 model? Any ideas? Thanks

He most likely swapped the 94-95 lights on. I dont think any 96-98's came with horizontals.

Thanks for the replies, the car is Japanese spec so maybe that could be the reason, don't think the lights have been swapped and it's definitely a 96 model

i recall someone on the forum (i want to say karararararararara over in Japan, but i dont want to say for sure) said they used verticles on 1997/1998 exports only. and the horizontal exports from 1994-1996.
