98 GT thermostat ?

Hey i know on the 94 and 95 5.0 they come with a 195 thermostat and you can put a 180 in it to help cool it off a little. Can you do that with a 4.6? and also has anyone had there plug in on there radiator fan short out? my car over heated last week and it turned out to be that the fan didnt come on so I pulled the connector and is black and melted around the ground! what is a good way to fix this?

Get a new plug or it isn't going to work. You'll be able to buy a new fan from Ford if you need it, but you'll need the harness from a donor car. I run a 180 in my 4.6. Can't say it helps, but it doesn't cause any problems unless it's really cold out. It never wants to warm up and gets terrible mileage cause it throws in extra fuel to try to warm itself up. Unless you drive it in freezing cold weather all of the time, I seriously wouldn't worry about it.
