lol, ok so we all agree i like shit to stand out. meaning i'm def one to stress appearance before HP, lol. i admit that, however i do like a car to run out good. decent HP #'s that i can get excited about when on the pedal.

i just wonder though is there a way to display my HP gains? for example i know by adding a vortech polished super charger i will have some show with the blower and intake tube. what if i PI swap heads and intake? any show stuff to go along with that swap? or is that just strictly for adding power but you cant do anything to show it off when ya pop the hood?? i'd like to gain about 100 horse while at the same time having something to show for it at car shows and shit. i know that sounds cheesy but that's what i do. i do cheesy :angry7:

Hahaha that smiley cracks me up everytime.... PI heads are pretty much all go no show lol. Unless you get the 01+ style intake manifold to go with it, which has a metal crossover on the front of it, which means it's a different color... Other than that tho... Just fawkin paint the heads while ya got em off mayn!!

Thats a tough one. You can do a lot with chrome or powder under the hood, hide/clean up wiring, etc. But none of it really HP. That pic of joekd's engine bay before and after COP mod really cleaned it up. But again, not really HP gains that can be displayed.

I did have a ProCharger on a Fox a while back, and that I would consider got a lot of attention. ProCharger's are LOUD, even at idle coming into a parking lot or a car show everyone remotely close to the car would turn around to see what's making that noise. The whine was much louder than the exhaust, an it got hella attention at gas stations, traffic lights, wherever you went. Of course mine was all function under the hood, but you can do a lot under the hood for a show stopper too.

You can buy sick valve covers for either one my good sir. But if your doing the head swap, and have the money, I would for sure pick up some badass valve covers. If I had the funds I woulda picked up some Trick Flow's myself, but my revival ran me dry haha.

And yeah that looks like a TURD! But hey a quick clean and it can go from meh to Tonified in no time!

Tony anything can have bling, you just need to start thinking outside the box. There isnt a part that goes on my car that I can actually say I took it out of the box and bolted it on. I tear into new parts as if they were old beat parts. Get creative no matter if its a vortech or PI swap whatever... use PS to paint yourself a picture of what your after the execute. Dont think stock either, look to improve on not only the form but function. Ford did a ton of stupid crap with these cars and if you get get rid of half the stupid crap your well on your way. Also dont think mustang specific when you shop theres tons of killer hotrod stuff that can be modded to work, So that means no america muscle or LMR shopping. Also try fabricating your own stuff and have it finished somewhere.

Rich for some reason It comes across to me that you think show cars have nothing but show. All I can tell you is Ive seen so many show cars that would flat out embrace your car in the performance department.

Easy quick and cheap bling under hood would be painting the vlv covers body color. And doing something with the ugly alternator.(paint it black to make it disappear or chrome it to make it pop).
Relocate the coil packs, consolidate the vacuum lines, wire tuck the rest of the crap.

I think you mean emberass?? :) Honestly, I don't care. I just like to drive what I build at the limit.

On the flip side of that coin, why don't you bring your billy badass SN to a road course. And I'll embrace you with a spec Miata. :)

Anyone that has $ can build a performance monster in every department. Car shows just aren't my thing, maybe they will be someday.

If thats the case you need a game plan. How much power 300,400 or big boy power? If your talking the first two a simple polished blower will get ya there if your talking big boy power. Start by pulling the motor and go from there new block, cams, heds, blower turbo ect. This would be the time to smooth and hide wires andcreally make things bling. Adding the polished blower yeah it looks ok but so does the other 800 cars at the show sitting next to you.
With your car tony, the only right thing to do would be an all out build to do it justice. Go big or go home lol.

I hear ya as to the diferent strokes for diferent folks and I understand it trust me. As for the monster that Im building Id rather leave it for its own purpose but Id gladly throw a spec car together and take ya up on your offer. Perhaps a monster miatta lol

I have to agree with Opal on this. Tony, your car is so deserving of an ultimate wire tuck and engine bay smoothing and clean up.

Granted, one of the best ways to make the bay look great is eliminating power steering and air conditioning, both of which I refuse to do.

But changing up all the vacuum lines, how they are routed, and all the wiring, makes a huge difference.
