adding stock CD player to Mach 460?

Hello out there... First post. Love the site! I have a 95 GT 'vert that came with the Mach 460 but no CD player. I bought the connecting harness from the head unit to the CD player (and the CD player) on Ebay. Tried and tried to get it to work, looked like a simple hook-up for the somewhat mechanically inclined... I read elsewhere that it just isn't possible. Anybody have any ideas?
