Air Intake question

OK so Im messing around with this V6 intake I have and Im cutting it and got it all to work now my question is that hose that runs from the breather on your valve cover to your intake tube, DO you need that? Or can I remove that. I rember one time my dad told me he does not understand why it is there and i could remove it but I want to make sure.

You Can Remove it.I removed mine on my 5.4 and Added a Little K&N Breather Filter in the valve cover.

Just because its possible to remove it doesn't mean you should.

It draws fresh air in for the PCV system. remove it and you will be drawing in unmetered air and run lean.

So basically since the car already runs lean, that's another reason to remove it?

It also relieves crankcase pressure...leave it.
