The only reason I'm not ditching mine is because I still need to run cats for emissions and for the visual inspection. If it turns out that classic car insurance isn't expensive(CC insurance in NJ means you drive under 3,000 miles per year and have ZERO inspection ftw!) compared to regular old insurance I may go that route and start trashing all my emissions crap.
But yeah all you have to do is just toss it, plug the air tube feed in the midpipe and the crossover holes in the back of the heads and you're good. I'd leave the EGR as there is zero performance benefit from removing it and unless you get a tune it can mess with your stock computer.
As for brackets, its just a way for companies to make money off ppl who don't know any better. All you need to do is run a shorter belt.
