Thanks Justin. We could only get like 550 something out of it, I was running out of fuel and going lean. I will need another pump and have to convert to triple walbros Dez said. No reason why it shouldnt be 600+

I cannot believe it. I'm going for this exact same look. Minus the rims. But the color scheme and body pieces are exactly how mine will look. I just need the hood and I'm ready for paint. Nice car though. Now I have an idea of what mine will look like when I'm done. Lol

Yea man....I would bet its more than that just if I were to put STOCK cams back in, with turbo cams I would probably see 100 rwhp+ at the same boost lol.

Check out this chart, dont wanna send your thread off topic but w.e

z1-31.jpg

Stock cams is the red line, 60 rwhp and 100 ft lb of tq gain with the stock cams over some NA hot rod cams they tested out...all at the same boost.

One mild na cam, the other a little more wild, lost ton of power.

Insane.

yea man, sucks real hard actually....im just hoping it makes some good numbers with the boost turned up so im not completely disappointed with the car.

The converter works, just seems a bit tight to me. When I put the car in 2nd gear I am able to get it up around 2200-2300 on the foot brake which actually isnt that bad...I think I was only able to footbrake my 3800-4k stall to 2500 or so.

Alan told me I need to upgrade to larger fluid lines because with a multi disc converter the fluid pressure is what keeps the friction plates separated. He says that if they are rubbing and creating friction and can make the stall speed slow/ sluggish which is what mine does basically.

Its a cheap upgrade, I picked up some 3/8 aluminum line and a few fittings for like 30 bucks total.

When I get the car back from the tuner Im gonna do the upgrade and see if it helps at all.

It never ends man.

Justin you should have just upgraded your old blower and downsized your pulley .. You would have made more power and less problems .. But then again the turbo setup is sweet for sure I just thought it would have been way easier and more reliable ..

lol, my blower was a fresh SI...I could have went with a larger blower I guess but I doubt there would be more power and less problems. I already had a lot of issues ripping belts with the SI, I cant imagine how many belts it would rip if I ran a big ass blower on it.

As far as power, turbo setups typically make so much more power than blower setups. Its hard to say what it would have made with the SI but I assume I would have ended up like Mike, probably end up maxing out the blower and making around 500 rwhp.....I guess ill have to see what the car does with the turbo here when I turn the boost up but I would think at the very least it will make around 500 rwhp.

If I actually had proper turbo cams in it it could make well over 600 rwhp through the auto with no issues I bet....I mean even now, I can easily throw some race gas in it and turn the boost up over 20 PSI and make huge power.

Turbo is the way to go for big power...just doesnt help that I have the worst cams possible....but it still made 420 rwhp on only 9 psi, my vortech hit 15 psi and made 440 before it blew.

Theres a stock HCI turbo 4.6 2v car over at modularfords that makes 530 rwhp and 630 tq with a peak 10.6 PSI just for comparison.

I didnt have many problems, once I got the v band leaks fixed up it was good.

Ive always wanted to go turbo anyway
