To be honest, you'll see a bit of an improvement, but with the stock intake, you're wasting your money. Get a better intake along with those heads and you'll gain A LOT more than just heads alone. Stock intake flows really crappy, basically it's what bottlenecks our engines from the factory.

Yeah i would def get a new upper and lower to match the flow of the heads. The stockers just won't cut it. You could get a Cobra upper and Lower if you wanted to go with a Street Heat. In the end to get the most from the heads you need to give it the room to breath.

While you are in there you might as well do a cam and timing chain swap

+1, minimally get a custom cam. The grinder should be able to give you the best info as to what intake you should use with your heads.

Agree BUT keep in mind that is a lot more work than just swapping the heads.

You shouldn't have to notch the pistons - that is the big thing with wedges. They have a "twisted" setting for the valves so the 2.02 valves don't hit the pistons..make sure you clay the heads just to make sure. Every motor is different..

changing the cam only added about 2hrs of work, at most

Correct.

It is not a simple job though, it isn't hard there just is a good amount of work still involved.

I just wanted to make that clear, that's all.

You dont NEED a custom cam, there are a lot of great off the shelf cams but if you want the most power possible it is the way to go. Keep in mind Custom Cams cost much more then off the shelf cams.

for anywhere from 10-50 more ponies i could see springing the extra one fiddy for the custom and having better driveability. It's up to you, but there are good OTS cams
